Hugh Howes presents award to Kevin Nassar (right)
|
This award came about when Hugh and Ann Howes found this
broken prop award, which had belonged to Ann's father, Jim Fordham. Jim
was a great builder and had an abundance of patience, but never really
perfected the actual flying skills despite his persistence. Each year,
Hugh and Ann Howes attend the RAMS Board of Directors' meetings in December
and January. Candidates are nominated by the attendees of these meetings.
Hugh and Ann then decide the award recipient. The trophy is awarded during
the Annual Awards Banquet, which is traditionally during the January club
meeting. Each year the current winner returns the trophy to Hugh and Ann
for presenting the following year. This beautiful wooden case was crafted
by Sonny Freed to help protect the trophy.
