Flying Skills Challenge
On 09/24/05 (Rain date the following day) we will hold an event to challenge the basic flying skills of all participants for airplanes and helicopters. The location will be the Fordham Field field. We will fly a set of basic NOT DANGEROUS maneuvers that will be scored by a judge. We will fly as many rounds as possible. To account for the different skill levels we will have two different sets of maneuvers as follows:
Airplanes
Level “A”

ü Take off (U)
ü Straight and level flight (U)
ü Straight and level flight (D)
ü 2 Loops (U)
ü 1 Roll (D)
ü Immelman (U)

D= Down Wind    U= Upwind

Class I

ü Take off
ü Tail-in Vertical Triangle
ü Constant heading Circle
ü Tail-in Vertical Rectangle
ü Spike with 90 degree Pirouettes
ü Pass in Review
ü Hover minimum 5 Seconds and Land

Class II

ü Take off
ü Vertical Triangle
ü Constant Heading Eight
ü Vertical Rectangle
ü Spike with 90 and 180 Degree Pirouettes
ü Nose-in Vertical Rectangle
ü Tail-in horizontal Eight
ü Translational Landing
