The two fifth grade classes of North Star Christian Academy visited
Macedon Flying Field on the morning of Wednesday June 15. Andrés
Rodríguez gave a talk to the enthusiastic students and Dennis Ekwortzell
provided an air show. The weather was beautiful except for the windy
conditions which negated more RAM member flyings and there could be no
buddy box flying by the students. That was a disappointment but the
boys and girls of NSCA enjoyed taking the nature trails and also playing
soccer and football on the field. Some students were able to see 5
small white tree swallow eggs in one of the bird houses. After
consuming their lunch, the three hour visit concluded. They were
accompanied to the field by their teachers, Mrs. Joanne Fowler and Mr.
Jamie Bell as well as the pilots spouse, Susan. Because Mrs. Fowler had
been teaching them about the history and theory of flight, they were
well prepared for the day and provided a lot of interaction with their
presenter,Mr. Rodríguez, who was very impressed with their knowledge and
demeanor. Dennis Ekwortzell |
